Authenticator App
Use Google Authenticator, Twilio’s Authy or Microsoft Authenticator to sign-in and access your Avochato account.
Avochato allows users to receive MFA codes through an authenticator app of their choice. Below are instructions on how to set-up your account to receive MFA codes from authenticators like Authy by Twilio, Google Authenticator, and Microsoft Authenticator.
It is important to have a phone number on file, as it will be used to receive 2FA codes if you lose access to your MFA device. Learn more about setting up your phone number for 2FA by clicking here.
How to Set-up your Authenticator App with Avochato
- Log-in to you Avochato account and navigate to your user profile icon located at the upper right corner of your inbox.

- You will be taken to the “Setup your Authenticator App” screen where you can configure your MFA device using your authenticator app of choice.
- You will need to enter a code from your authenticator app of choice to be entered in “Step 3: Enter a MFA code from your app”. If you don’t have an authenticator app yet, you can download one in Google Play Store for Android or the App Store for iOS. Avochato mainly supports the following: Authy by Twilio, Google Authenticator, and Microsoft Authenticator.
- Once you have an authenticator app set-up and installed on your mobile device, you can now get an MFA code from your authenticator app by either scanning the QR code or by entering the secret key manually.
Scanning the QR code or entering the secret key is only done during set-up.
- Enter the 6 digit code from your authenticator app and it should automatically submit and finish if the code is correct. You will be brought back to the “Edit Profile” page.
- Enable “Require MFA for your user on all accounts” so that during your next sign-in, you'll be prompted to enter an MFA code to verify your session.
With your MFA device set up, you'll be prompted to enter a code from your authenticator app each time you sign in to Avochato. If you've lost or don't have your MFA device with you, you can choose “Try using phone 2FA” (available only if a valid phone number is on file).
