Auto-apply Tags to Conversations using Using AvoAI

Automatically apply tags to conversations by having AI scan messages in real time

AvoAI can automatically assign tags to your messages based on their content. This helps you organize and categorize conversations with less manual effort.

💡

This guide covers auto-tagging all new messages in your inbox. The system will scan all messages, regardless of whether an AI agent is assigned. Please note that AI usage will count toward your balance.

1. Go to Automation > AvoAI Agent > Configure Agent and add the tag(s) you want the agent to use for auto-tagging in option #13. Hit “update” after adding the tags. In the example below, we added avocado as a tag for AvoAI to use.

2. Now we will need to give instructions for AvoAI so it will know when to tag a conversation. To do this, head over to Automations > AvoAI Agent > Instruct Agent and click on “Recipes”

3. A new side window will show up and select “Add Tags to Conversation”. Replace someTopic with the condition when AvoAI will tag the conversation. Replace someTagName with the tag you want AvoAI to use when it detects the condition.

In the example below, we’ll use tasty fruit for the topic and avocado as the tag to use

4. Head over to Automation > AvoAI Agent Assist and flip the status switch to active for Agent Assist

5. In the same page, scroll down and turn flip the “Auto-apply Tags” switch to ON

Once you’ve correctly set everything above, the AI will now automatically scan conversations and tag if it detects the topic in the instruction you made. Using the examples above with “tasty fruit” as the topic and “avocado” as the tag, the conversation should look like below.
