Using Grammarly with Avochato

Get real-time grammar and spelling suggestions as you compose messages in Avochato

Using Grammarly with Avochato

Grammarly is fully supported in the Avochato message composer. If you have the Grammarly browser extension or desktop app installed, it will automatically activate when you type in the chatbox, no extra setup required.

How it works

When Avochato detects Grammarly on your device, it creates a hidden text overlay in the message composer that lets Grammarly read and highlight your text. You'll see Grammarly's suggestions and corrections appear just like they do in any other text field. The underlying message editor still handles all your typing and formatting. Grammarly simply reads along and offers its suggestions on top.

Because Grammarly is handling grammar and spelling, Avochato's built-in spellcheck will automatically turn off to avoid duplicate underlines.

What to expect

  • Grammarly suggestions appear in the message composer — click them to accept corrections as usual.
  • The Grammarly button/icon will appear near the bottom of the editor once you click into the composer for the first time.
  • Syncing is automatic — any correction Grammarly applies is immediately reflected in your message before you send it.

Requirements

  • Works in the standard ticket message composer. Not currently supported in template editors or other text fields.

Troubleshooting

Grammarly isn't showing up in the composer

  • Make sure the Grammarly extension is enabled for the Avochato tab. In Chrome, click the Grammarly extension icon and confirm it's toggled on for the site.
  • Try clicking directly into the message box and typing a few characters. Grammarly activates on first focus.
  • Refresh the page and try again.

I'm seeing double underlines (Grammarly + built-in spellcheck)

  • Avochato automatically disables its built-in spellcheck when Grammarly is detected. If you're seeing both, try reloading the page.

Grammarly suggestions appear in the wrong position

  • This can happen if your browser zoom level is not at 100%. Reset your zoom (Ctrl+0 / Cmd+0) and reload.

Disabling Grammarly for Avochato

If you'd prefer not to use Grammarly in Avochato, you can disable it for the site directly in the Grammarly extension settings, or pause Grammarly globally from the extension menu. Avochato's built-in spellcheck will resume automatically.
