What is Advanced Inbox Search?
Advanced Inbox Search allows users to run more precise searches. Simply select a prefix (phone, name, message, tags, etc.) from the dropdown and enter the words or numbers you’re searching for.

What prefixes can I search with?
Below are 8 search prefixes you can use to refine your search. We’ve included information for each below and a small demonstration on how it works.
Search by Phone Number
Allows a user to search conversations by using phone numbers.

Search by Contact Name
Allows a user to search using a contacts first and last name.

Search by Message
Allows a user to search within the messages in a conversation. This is not case sensitive and can also show words that are similar to your search words.

Search by Tags
Allows a user to search by tags in the conversation. Please note that search by tags is case sensitive.

By Contact or Conversation Field (has)
View conversations for contacts by matching fields from the contact profile. For example, if you want to find a conversation but only know the contact’s email, use the has prefix followed by “contact.” to “contact.email”, then enter the email address you’re searching for. Please note that search by contact field is case sensitive.

By Custom Field (field)
This one works the same as using the “has” prefix but for custom fields. To know more about custom fields check out this article. When searching with the field prefix, a list of your custom fields will be shown so you can choose easily. Please note that search by custom field is case sensitive.

By Conversation Created Date
Shows all conversation created on a specified single date. After selecting a date from the calendar, press ENTER to show the search results.

By Contact Created Date
Instead of displaying conversations based on when they were created, this option shows all conversations based on the contact’s creation date. For example, if you search for yesterday’s date, then it will show conversations for all contacts that were created yesterday.

Can I mix two search prefixes?
Yes! You can further refine your searches by using two prefixes in one search. In the example below, we use both “conversation.created” and “tags” to identify Customer 2 as the contact with the “avocado” tag that was created on January 16.
